Crystal Grove Diamond Mine and Campground is at the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. It is close to the Baseball Hall of Fame, Secret Caverns, Herkimer Diamond Mines, fossil digging, and other exciting attractions. This is a great area to visit–I’ve been there many times. It’s a paradise for kids who love to dig and treasure hunters. Quiet, well-behaved pets are always welcome but they must be kept on a leash at all times. Water and electric hookups, dumping station, playground, horseshoes, volleyball, ping-pong, restrooms, free hot showers, gift and rock shop, and snacks are available. Every site has a fire ring and picnic table. For an additional fee, you can mine for gems. Bring your own tools or rent them. Located close to Lake Lauderdale State Park, in Cambridge NY, close to the Vermont border this is an RV campground in upstate NY that is great for a very laid back and relaxed vacation. Amenities include a kiddie “train” ride, volleyball, playground, pull through sites, planned social activities, zigzag kiddie scooters, and hiking trails. It is close to the public beach at Lake Lauderdale. This is important as are no swimming facilities are available onsite.
